Edwin van der Sar

Goalkeeper

Goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar is not without reason the most capped international of the Dutch national team. He played 130 games for Holland and proved himself to be a man of super class in the goal. Wherever he defended his area, in Holland (Ajax), Italy (Juventus) or England (Fulham and Manchester United), he showed his ability to perform apparently impossible saves.

Van der Sar described his specialty as 'making a stretch in a stretch' when flying in the air. With an age of 40 years and 205 days he is the oldest player who won the English Premiership. The two time winner of the Champions League with two different teams (Ajax and Manchester United) still holds the world clean sheet record of 1311 minutes by not conceding a single goal. He currently works as a director at his club Ajax Amsterdam.
